Underwater periscope, Ambajejus, ca. 1940

Description
Made by a Great Northern Paper craftsman, the periscope was used for looking beneath the water for cables or other items related to log drives. It was particularly useful on sunny days when there was a lot of glare reflected from the water. This periscope is made from a sheet metal cone with a glass bottom.
